INSPIRING landscapes, quirky buildings and interesting people will help to influence works for an art festival to celebrate life in Bungay.
The Black Dog Art Trail, put on by arts group Black Dog Arts, will feature 40 artworks created by 10 local artists showing Bungay people going about their everyday lives - shopping, enjoying a pint or visiting the post office. The artists will be helped by the trail's artistic director, internationally acclaimed artist Cruer Tidman.
The art trail is part of a month-long festival called Waveney Revels, aimed at encouraging local people and tourists in the district to try something new and explore the art and culture on offer in the area.
The artists have been spending time sketching and painting around the town and will display their finished pieces from Saturday, April 5, to Saturday, April 26, in the places that inspired them, so that the shops, businesses and community buildings become the galleries for the 40 original pictures.
A map of the trail will be produced to show where each artwork is located.
Keen young artists from the Sir John Leman High School in Beccles will also be taking part in the Revels festival by exhibiting pieces of art in the Upstairs Gallery in Exchange Square.
