Pupils from the Beccles and Lowestoft studios of the June Glennie School of Dance competed in the annual Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance Ballet Awards at London's St Mary's College last weekend.
Pupils from the Beccles and Lowestoft studios of the June Glennie School of Dance competed in the annual Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance Ballet Awards at London's St Mary's College last weekend.
A strong contingent from Great Britain was joined by dance students from around the world.
“Standards were very high” said the Glennie School's ballet teacher Sharon Glennie. “But all our dancers won through to the finals and we were exceptionally pleased with their final placing.”
Results
Grade 3: second place - Holly Tuxford; Grade 4: first place - Mia Zandi, second place - Bryony Squibb; Grade 5: first place - Micheal Guihot-janpour; Grade 6: third place - Alice Sims; class award - James Field.
Intermediate finalists: Libby Watts, Jade Spooner, Georgia Attfield, Andi Horne; class award - Jade Spooner.
Musicality award - Geogia Attfield and Libby Watts.
Georgia Attfield won a free place to the Doreen Wells Summer School, while Micheal Guihot-Janpour won the Boys' Junior Cup.
The Dancing Times Cup for the school that accumulated the most points at the awards was won by Sharon Glennie for the fifth consecutive year.
