School children in Beccles, Bungay and beyond dressed up as their favourite characters for this year’s World Book Day.
Marked in more than 100 countries across the globe, World Book Day is an annual celebration of the beauty of reading.
After weeks of preparation from parents to ensure outfits were ready, youngsters donned their finest character attire and arrived at school to compare their efforts.
Spells were cast by Harry and Ron, Thing One and Thing Two were up to their usual mischief, and Violet Beauregarde just couldn’t resist Willy Wonka’s new variety of chewing gum.
Even teachers couldn’t help but join the fun, dressing up as Little Red Riding Hood, Superman and the Queen of Hearts.
