Beccles and District Lions Club would like to say a very big thank you once again to all the people of Beccles and the surrounding community for the generous support and giving they have provided to the club throughout December and the Christmas period.
Lion President Chris Eglington said: “Each year I’m amazed by the generous giving from the people of Beccles and this year is once again no exception. It has been even better than last year’s.
“As a Lions Club we offer help to those less fortunate within the local community, therefore we do rely heavily on gifts and donations from the public, especially in December, as it’s our busiest time for fund raising.
“The people of Beccles have once again excelled themselves in their response. Demonstrating what Christmas is all about – a time for sharing and giving to help others. Through this generous giving Beccles Lions will be able to offer even more help and support to those in the community that need it the most - both young and old.”
Beccles and District Lions Club would like to thank the town council for allowing the Christmas float in Beccles town Centre again this year. Plus a big thank you to Roys and Morrisons supermarkets for allowing us to have the Christmas float in their car parks. Also thank you to Tesco Supermarket for providing an empty basket for people to place items in.
