A charity at the heart of the Beccles community is making connections around the globe; forging new friendships and helping more people than ever.
Beccles and Districts Lions Club celebrated officially twinning with its Spanish counterparts the Vera and Districts Lions Club from Costa Almeria during a recent charter dinner.
The idea of twinning the two clubs was initially raised by Chris Lambert, vice president of the Beccles branch, during regular visits to Spain.
During the dinner Beccles Lions Club President Chris Ramsden presented a declaration of friendship, written in both English and Spanish, to Vera and District Club President Pam Mattioli.
Mr Ramsden said: “As a club we feel it will be a good thing to be twinned, because we have already made new friends and we can all work together in the aim of all Lions Clubs, which is to help others wherever their community is and whatever their need might be throughout the world.”
