A 20-year-old Beccles man, who was found in possession of cocaine and cannabis, claims he was asked to look after the drugs after getting into debt with drug dealers, a court has heard.
Callum Palfrey, of Tower Hill, pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday to two offences of possessing cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply on July 4 last year.
He also admitted escaping following his arrest by police on the same day.
Andrew Thompson, for Palfrey, said his client had admitted the drugs offences on the basis that he had been asked to look after a box containing the drugs after getting into debt with his drug dealers. Palfrey’s drug debt had been growing and he had intended to return the box containing the drugs to the people who gave it to him.
He said Palfrey had been on bail since July and hadn’t been contacted by the drug dealers since then. The case was adjourned to allow the prosecution to consider the basis of plea.
