Sunbeams Educare took part in “Outdoor Classroom Day” last Thursday, marked in 50 countries across the world. The event is to promote the benefits of spending time outdoors.

Nursery managers Cheryl Harrison and Angie Soloman decided to put on the event and allow the children to make use of the large outdoor space they have. Mrs Harrison said: “Research shows the outdoors increases positive behaviour, concentration and just in general has a really good influence on youngsters. All the children made the most out of the outdoors day getting involved in gardening, maths activities and a snail trail.”

The nursery is looking at expanding its outdoor space and introducing an undercover classroom.

It will be holding an open day on Wednesday, June 7, from 9.30am to 10.30am.
