The Beccles Police Station is on the market for £750,000 after development plans were submitted by Suffolk Constabulary.

The former station on London Road comprises of a front section which dates from the 1930s.

The three-storey building, which is advertised on Realla, includes a glass surround, arched roof and sash windows.

The plans feature an application for a total floor area for eight flats, which could be formed within the existing building.

Last year, Architects Chaplin Farrant Ltd submitted a planning application on behalf of Suffolk Constabulary.

The space has been closed to the public for more than two years.

At the time, Elfrede Brambley-Crawshaw, mayor of Beccles, said she was concerned about the building no longer being used as a community asset.

She said: “I would have preferred it to remain a police station or at least a building that can be used by the public.”
