Youngsters at a Beccles primary school have been enjoying a trip to the stables as part of a new after school riding club.
The Albert Pye Pony Club, a new venture launched at the school last year, saw pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 taking up riding lessons and learning about stable management.
Working in collaboration with Annabelle’s Equestrian at Hall Farm in Henstead, the children have gone from complete novices to jumping small fences and competing in their first gymkhana - an equestrian event comprising of races and other competitions on horseback.
Each week, pupils have completed activities to gain their pony club badges and the school is also hoping to offer the sessions to pupils in Year 3 in the summer term.
