She is the most loyal best friend any girl could wish for.
She is fun, lovable and “looks amazing” - even if she is a little on the furry side.
Jinx is the star pooch and the pride and joy of her 16-year-old owner Naomi Read.
And yesterday the enviable team packed their bags and dog treats to go to Birmingham, in a bid to become Crufts champions.
Naomi, of Dobson Way in Beccles, said she was excited more than nervous for her first big competition with Jinx.
The Sir John Leman pupil said: “We have an amazing bond. I love her and she loves me. Dogs can be naughty sometimes but that’s just dogs for you. But she always looks amazing when she runs.”
The twosome, who are members of the Valley Farm Dog Agility Club in Wickham Market, competed in the Young Kennel Club Agility Dog of the Year competition held on the event’s first day.
Naomi and her four-year-old collie/terrier cross Jinx ran through an obstacle course in the hope of getting into the final which takes place in the main arena - where thousands were watching.
And in the crowd, Naomi said she will have plenty of family members to cheer her on.
A car packed with five of them made their way to the competition and she said many more family and friends were sure to be cheering at their screens at home.
She said: “My friends are really happy for me and really excited and supportive.
“I have got a lot of family coming to watch and they are going to be filming me. My mum is really proud of me for getting this far. She doesn’t mind if I do something wrong.
“My mum does the training so she brought me into it. I just carried it on and went on to achieve.”
The pair had to place in the top two at qualifying competitions and participated in the medium height category.
Naomi added: “We do shows but they are nothing like this. There will be thousands of people there.”
One promise sure to make her furry buddy jump for joy is the one of treats.
The dog-lover said: “She’ll get spoilt rotten if we win.”
This year’s Crufts competition launched yesterday and runs until Sunday at The Nec in Birmingham.
