A group of bikers who travelled hundreds of miles from east to west on the longest day of the year have raised £1,000.

The expedition, which was spearheaded by Colin Hartley of Loddon, who works for First Eastern Counties, travelled 984 miles from Ness Point in Lowestoft to Land’s End over two days to raise funds for the Royal British Legion Riders’ Branch. Mr Hartley was joined by his wife Christine, Norwich bus drivers Alan Brenkley and Adrian Kemp and their wives, and Colin’s brother in law Jimmy Sturman, who is also a relief standard bearer. Mr Hartley said: “We had a brilliant time and I would like to thank everyone who donated. We stopped at First bus depots along the way and the people we met were so friendly. We hope to take part in another challenge next year.” To sponsor the team visit www.justgiving.com/colin-hartley
