Brownies past and present invited to join hangar tea party
Past and present members of the 1st Beccles Brownies are invited to attend a tea party organised by the group later this month.
The event is part of the Big Brownie Birthday Challenge to hold a tea party in an unusual location.
The Brownies have arranged to use a hanger at Ellough Airfield - the home of UK Parachuting - and will be holding the tea party on Wednesday, June 25, from 6pm to 8pm. The event is being held on the same day that the President of Girlguiding HRH The Countess of Wessex is holding a garden party for 50 lucky Brownies from across the UK who won a place in a competition.
The group would like to invite as many past and present members and leaders of the 1st Beccles Brownies as possible. The oldest members are expected to be in their 90s as the group was founded at the end of the First World War, while the youngest members include Crowfoot Primary pupils Lauren and Neve (pictured right) age seven and eight. Local branches of Tesco, Morrisons, QD Stores and M&H Plastics have all made donations towards the cost of the tea party and there will be a garden party hat competition and lots of games.
The event will also be attended by Beccles mayor Caroline Topping and Sophie Sampson who is a Brownie and one of the new Beccles Carnival Princesses.
Anyone who would like to attend the Brownies’ tea party can contact Caroline Carvosso on 01502 716669 or email her at email@example.com
