Bungay Lions Club has presented a cheque for £200 to Waveney Foodbank, which helps local people in crisis.
The money was handed over by club president Jane Gardiner and her husband Michael, who met with Carole Hunt, distribution coordinator for the foodbank, and Father Charles who is a trustee.
The funds, raised through a series of events throughout the year including bingo nights, fetes the savoury bake-off and classic vehicle rally, will be used to buy nappies, baby wipes and various items for baby care.
Thee Waveney Foodbank has distribution centres in Bungay, Harleston, Diss, Long Stratton and all villages around and between Eye to Laxfield.
The foodbank provides three days worth of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in crisis. It is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
