THE dcor at the Fisher Theatre caf bar at Bungay has undergone a bit of a make-over as it continues to attract bookings as a major venue for meetings and events in addition to its main entertainment role.

It is a popular place to meet friends and enjoy good food, and the changes have come as the result of suggestions form the public.

Events manager Les Hoare said: “We sought the views of visitors to the theatre and local business leaders to find out what was really important to them and we have made significant changes to what we offer.

“The Fisher is not just a theatre - it is a great town centre venue for any event, whether it be for pleasure or business. We always want to do our best and we always want to improve which is why the views of our customers are so important.”

The Caf Bar has been refurbished to provide a light, airy atmosphere and new lunchtime and pre performance menus that change daily. The theatre has responded to the increased demand for healthier and freshly prepared food.

The conference and meeting facilities have also been extended and upgraded.

“The increased demand for social functions, including weddings, to be held at the theatre is amazing and we now have four different areas we can offer,” Mr Hoare said. “For business meetings it is important that a high standard of equipment and service is offered along with on-site catering. It is essential for any business that their chosen venue is able to support them with a professional approach.”

The Fisher has responded to the effects of the recession on both the public and local business by fixing its prices at competitive levels.

“For any function we aim to offer the best value for money we can because we understand that so many people are going through tough economic times,” he said. “You can get married at The Fisher with over a hundred guests for less than 250 space hire and I believe that represents great value for a venue that offers so much in character and support.”
