The adventure continues for a talented wildlife photographer, who is set to help others get behind the lens and capture images of the magnificent Eurasian brown bear.

Harry Read, from Bungay, has teamed up with fellow Suffolk photographer Kyle Moore to form BearPhoto, a company offering unique experience tours in the Kuhmo region of Finland.

In collaboration with Finnish counterparts at the Wild Brown Bear Centre, the pair will operate their first ever tour in September at a time when brown bear activity reaches its peak due to feasting in preparation for winter.

Despite being just 22-years-old and only graduating from university in 2017, Mr Read already boasts an extensive portfolio of stunning images having spent more than 1,000 hours camped in Scandinavian bear hides over the past four years.

And now, with his latest exploits, he will providing an opportunity for other budding photographers to do the same.

“Kyle and I have been liaising over the last few months and the bear photography business is now officially up and running,” said Mr Read.

“We joked it would take us ages to get any bookings but there’s only a few remaining spots for the first tour in September. In 2019 we’ll be offering a selection of five tours from April to September.

“At this point in time I’m trying to build up my own name in the photography world. The trouble with something like this is that it’s quite a niche focus, but hopefully it can become something from which we can forge a career, and perhaps even do it all over the world.

Mr Read is certainly one to keep busy and only returned home in March after working for several months as a guide in the Swedish wilderness, where he accompanied photography enthusiasts to see the spectacular Northern Lights.

“It’s been a really busy winter having been out in Sweden from December to March, but it went very well” added Mr Read.

“Taking photos out there can be incredibly challenging because it’s so dark and so cold. It was -20 degrees most of the time and -40 on a few of the days we were out there, plus the wildlife is really hard to find.”

In the meantime Mr Read will be on British soil, seeking out the wildlife wonders that his homeland has to offer.
