More than 50 local businesses have already signed up to participate in this year’s Beccles Duck Race.

The event, which is being hosted by Beccles Rugby Club, will be held at Beccles Quay on Sunday, September 7.

Along with the usual races, there will be live music, stalls and refreshments, with proceeds going towards a new youth hub for younger rugby club players, along with other local causes.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary year, the committee have introduced new sponsorship packages for local businesses to increase brand exposure and race against their competitors. Packages start at £50 and include exposure on the Duck Race website and Facebook page. Larger cost packages provide opportunities to purchase England Six Nation Rugby tickets, advertising space at the new youth hub and social memberships to Beccles RUFC. All corporate sponsors will also be provided with tickets for the corporate tent, another new addition to this year’s Duck Race, which is sponsored by Adnams.

Alan Cooper, chairman of the duck race committee, said: “We have had an overwhelming response this year and it’s great to see local businesses jumping on board to support the community. We have made some changes with more opportunities for sponsorship and we hope this will help our hardworking local businesses gain some further exposure in Beccles and the surrounding towns.” For more details visit www.becclesduckrace.org or call Mr Cooper on 07834599674.
