Suffolk Wildlife Trust is inviting the public to hear about its vision for the biggest landscape transformation seen in the Broads for a decade.
Matt Gooch, broads sites manager at the trust, will give a special illustrated talk on Carlton Marshes at Jubilee Hall, on George Lane, in Loddon this evening.
Organised by South Yare Wildlife Group, the event is a chance for wildlife enthusiasts to find out more about attempts to create wildness as far as the eye can see on the reserve near Lowestoft.
Last year, Suffolk Wildlife Trust reached its £1m public fundraising target courtesy of donations from members, supporters and charitable organisations.
The overall project, which includes the purchase of 384 acres of land, habitat restoration and the building of a state-of-the-art visitor centre, will cost £8m - with around half coming through a National Lottery grant.
Entry for this evening’s talk, starting at 7.30pm, costs £2 for members of the South Yare Wildlife Group, £5 for non-members and u16s go free. Booking is not required.
