The charity Breast Cancer Awareness day, organised by two students from Bungay High School Sixth Form, raised well over £200 by getting students and staff to wear pink on Thursday, October 23.

Brittany Pipe and Sian Seaman wanted to do an event that would enable everyone to contribute easily and then several other events took place around the centre to raise additional profile and money.

One such event was the pumpkin carving competition which got form groups or individuals to decorate and embellish the seasonal fruit which was judged by Clinton Gillett (Head of Graphics).

Verity Smiths (Director of Design) form group organised this fun activity which had Susan Cranmer’s form win the prize and a special award presented to Kane Sutton for his creative individual entry.

Bungay High Sixth Form is celebrating the brilliant successes achieved by last year’s students and last week welcomed prospective new students at an open evening.

The Universities Map on display at the entrance to the Sixth Form Centre shows the destinations of all 80 of this year’s UCAS students who have moved on to study a diverse range of subjects at universities all over the country.

The school is also celebrating the success of all leavers who have gone on to apprenticeships and employment in every corner of the country.

Bungay High School students and teachers recently dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl characters to raise money for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.

Associate Head, Catherine Wiltshire, said: “Our students were very keen to support this good cause and we were delighted to see them having fun whilst developing their literacy skills”.
