As celebrations take place across the country to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday, one Suffolk brewery has gone a step further by creating an ale in her honour.
All Ale To The Queen has been unveiled by St Peter’s Brewery, based in St Peter South Elmham, to mark her milestone year, and the label design also features the Union Flag.
The brewery prides itself on being able to produce new monthly ales and flavours to tie in with the seasons, and the team thought the 90th birthday of Britain’s longest reigning monarch was too big of an occasion to miss.
Steve Magnall, CEO at St Peter’s Brewery said: “The Queen’s 90th birthday is a really special occasion and it’s really important we celebrate it because she is a part of everyone’s lives.
“She is an institution and we have got to celebrate someone who has been around for that long.

“We are fortunate that we are a small enough brewery that we can do batch runs and every month we do a different beer and send them out to see what the feedback is like.
“We sat down at our weekly planning meeting and came up with an golden/amber ale which will be good for the summer.

“We hope it provides a talking point at pubs across the country.”
All Ale To The Queen is a 4.2pc ABV ale with a noticeable treacle toffee flavour and a light, sweet, floral aroma. It has subtle hints of fruit courtesy of sovereign dry hopping.
St Peter’s Brewery has around 500 regular customers, many of which put in pre-orders for the ale, with only three barrels left.
The brewing and racking process took around two weeks to complete and over the last fortnight the ale has been sent out to pubs in Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambridge and London.
Locally the ale will be available at The King’s Head in Beccles and The Fleece Inn, Bungay.
Mr Magnall said: “If we get some really good feedback then we will consider doing a small limited edition bottle run.
“It’s only been out two weeks but it is already proving to be popular.”
And the brewery is already working on its next special ale - Two Decades - which will mark the company’s 20th anniversary.
