A LITTLE bit of Southwold has come to a Suffolk primary school in the shape of a boat and beach huts for children's play.

Youngsters at Brampton Primary School, near Beccles, have been getting to grips with their new play area and equipment following a cash boost.

The play area was officially unveiled yesterday onTuesday by Southwold pier owners Stephen and Antonia Bournes who donated about £2,500 in coins from a fountain on the pier. The small change was counted by the children and staff of the school. The school also used £1,000 which they won last year through our sister paper the EDP's Get Equipped competition to help fund the project.

Headteacher Valerie Rutterford said: “The school is on Southwold Road and now we have our own mini Southwold with a boat and beach huts at the front. We are absolutely delighted. This gives the children lots of opportunity for creative play.”
