Crime fighters in Beccles are ending the year 10 stones lighter while raising almost £200 for a local children's resource centre.
The group at Beccles Police Station decided to shed the pounds for both health and charitable reasons with one person losing six stone, another two-and-a half-stone and a number of others contributing to the final tally.
As well as raising the cash, thanks to the support of Hughes in Beccles, the local children’s resource centre in the town received some extra special Christmas presents.
Waveney Crime Reduction Officer Alan Keely, who organised the slimming club, said: “Our two real success stories are Rob and Marie who have done brilliantly well and lost more than eight stone between them.
“The rest of us have done well too, maintaining our ‘already trim figures’ throughout the year. We will be starting another club after Christmas in a bid to raise more funds and to keep station staff who want to take part in trim.”
The team at Beccles also raised money through Movember.
