Come Dine With Me Polly to get BBC Norfolk radio show
A Norfolk model is set to show how baking can be glamourous when she takes to the airwaves next weekend.
Come Dine With Me television show winner Polly Guy is set to have her own slot on David Whiteley’s breakfast show on BBC Radio Norfolk on Saturday mornings.
Polly’s Pantry will see the 29-year-old from Bergh Apton tell listeners how to perfect brunch-time recipes including granola bars, Welsh rarebit and traditional crepes.
Former City College Norwich student Miss Guy said: “We’re trying to make food and baking a bit more hip, cool and glamourous, we want a different audience.
“It’s going to be hard to do a cooking show on the radio - when you cook on TV or with friends, people can see what you are doing but on the radio they can’t, it’s all going to be done on sound and description, it’s going to be interesting.”

Miss Guy was one of four Norwich contestants to take part in Come Dine With Me last month. She won 1,000 after she wowed the other contestants with her impressive cookery skills and firework entertainment.
She donated half of her winnings to the East Anglian Air Ambulance, which helped her mother, Anna Guy, a retired GP who was in a serious road crash on the outskirts of Norwich two-and-a-half years ago. Miss Guy visited the air ambulance base in Norwich earlier this month to hand over the money to the charity.

Miss Guy, who has spoken frankly in the past about her own battle with bulimia, said she had also seen the air ambulance’s work first hand after witnessing another road traffic accident recently.
She said: “I just think they need as much help as they can get and I wanted to thank them for saving mum’s life.”
