CELEBRATIONS are taking place in Davy Place, Loddon, where the residents' committee has been awarded £8,000 by the Big Lottery Awards for All scheme to enable a computer club to get up and running.

Over the new few months residents of the Saffron Housing Trust scheme will be asking members of the community to go and join them as they surf the web.

Projects looking into local history and family trees will doubtless prove popular.

Betty Rivett who made the application on behalf of the Residents' Committee said: “We were delighted to receive the grant, which will make so much difference to us all. We hope that we shall be able to share these facilities with a wider group.”

Sue Ford, a team leader in Saffron Housing Trust's housing support added: 'This will make a big difference to the wider community as well as our existing members and it encourages clients to explore a wider world through the club.'
