BECCLES Town Council this week urged people to respond to a questionnaire regarding the proposed Local Government changes it is currently delivering to every home in the town.

This leaflet will be delivered to every househol by Wednesday, and there are also spare copies at the Town Hall. The Local Government Review will affect everyone and the council believes it is imperative that every household answers the simple, short questionnaire so that their residents' were registered with the Boundary Committee.

The Town Council has a responsibility to ensure that everyone in the town is informed about the proposed changes and the way in which it could affect them. Without input from residents the Town Council cannot make representations to the Boundary Committee to ensure that their views are taken into account. It is also hoped to hold a Forum in the town shortly. It will only take a few minutes to complete this important questionnaire.

The deadline for response is September 5 to enable the town council to collate everyone's views. Responses can be delivered to Beccles Town Hall (a ballot box will be placed inside the front door), the Library, the Co-op Stores at Rigbourne Hill and Wherry Veterinary Clinic on London Road, where ballot boxes will also be provided.

The Town Council has to send a written representation to the Boundary Committee before September 26, and is keen to emphasise that people's views important - without their input the town council cannot make proper representation.
