Police are appealing for witnesses after a driver was seriously injured in a collision on a busy road.

The incident occurred shortly after 8.20pm yesterday, near to the chicken roundabout on the A143 in Ditchingham, when a silver BMW convertible was in collision with a tree. The driver was subsequently taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Suffolk Constabulary are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, in particular the driver of a BMW X6 or X5 and the driver of a HGV tanker. Both vehicles were seen to stop at the scene following the crash.

Officers would also like to find out more about the driving manner of the vehicle prior to the incident, or hear from anybody who may have dashcam footage of the collision.

Anyone with information should contact PC Rob Hardingham at Norfolk Constabulary on 101. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
