Italian-born Capello, will be venturing to the town in February 2010 to open the college's £70million building.

The England coach has recently thrilled football fans across the country after leading the squad to victory in the World Cup qualifiers.

And now, ahead of the World Cup - which kicks off on June 11 2010 in South Africa, Capello will arrive to celebrate the opening of the new college build.

The college opened for teaching in September however the new site will not officially open until the new year with the assistance of Capello.

Dave Muller, Principal of Suffolk New College, said: “We are honoured that Fabio has agreed to open our fabulous new build during such an important year.

“The support of the England manager is highly relevant given that we are all working to encourage people and particularly young people, to lead healthier lives and to participate in sport and other related activates.

Richard Nicol, Chair of Suffolk New College Governing Body, also expressed delight at the prospect of welcoming Capello.

He said: “It's great to welcome such a distinguished individual and leader to raise aspirations for the students and the wider community.”

England topped their qualifying group, after successfully defeating Ukraine, Croatia, Belarus, Kazakstan and Andorra to the prime position.

During the qualifying stages, which ended earlier this month, England only suffered one loss when they played Ukraine on October 10.
