THE snow had led to a range of events being cancelled across Norfolk.

Here are some of the cancellations:

? Swaffham Slimming World Group - Group meeting tonight is cancelled due to the weather. Group will take place as normal next Thursday at the Conservative Club. If members have any questions they can contact Judy Taylor on the normal number.

? Reedham Parish Council Meeting on Monday, January 11. This has been cancelled due to weather conditions, it has been re-scheduled for Monday, January 18, weather permitting.

? Norwich Arts Centre - Skip “Little Axe” McDonald, Thursday, January 7. This gig has been cancelled. The arts centre is hoping to reschedule it for either Monday, January 18, or Wednesday, February 17.

? Thorpe End Village Hall, Thursday, January 7, and Saturday, January 9. Due to the adverse weather conditions, Broadland District Council regrets that these two open days, to explain proposals for a new Conservation Area at Thorpe End, have had to be cancelled.

The council hopes to be able to reschedule these events for dates later in the month. The proposals can still be seen and commented upon at its website consultation pages at www.broadland.gov.uk or by telephoning the council on 01603 430560 to receive a copy of the appraisal. Conservation staff will also be please to discuss the proposals by phone or email - conservation@broadland.gov.uk

? A selection panel to pick a new matron for the rebuilt Cromer hospital which was due to take place tomorrow Thursday January 7 has been postponed due to the bad weather and will be rearranged later.

? Diss - The 100th birthday party of Diss pensioner Charles Saunders at Broome Village Hall has been cancelled this afternoon (Thursday, January 7) because of the weather conditions. Happy birthday Charles. Hope you have a good day, despite no party.

? Catton - A talk on global warming at Catton has been cancelled tonight (Thursday, January 7) because of the snow.

? Norwich Theatre Royal - The10.30am schools performance of Robin Hood was cancelled. Theatre bosses say they'll try to reschedule. The 6.30pm performance tonight will go ahead.

? Queen's Hill Primary School, Costessey, - Thursday, January 7, 7.30pm to 9pm. The community consultation event for the community centre planned for Queen's Hills has been cancelled. It is planned to be rearranged at a later date.

? Waveney & Norwich - Both councils have cancelled football matches on their pitches this weekend.

? Fakenham - The presentation evening for the Christmas Tree Festival at Fakenham Parish Church has been cancelled. The event was due to be held at 7.30pm on Friday, January 8. More than �23,000 raised at the December festival was to be distributed among the 75 charities which took part. The rector of Fakenham, the Rev Adrian Bell, said the donations will now be sent by post.
