Visitors to the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum in Flixton have been treated to the sight of some classic machines used to life a little closer to the ground.

A fleet of Fords were on display outside the museum on Monday, as members of the Ford Y and C Model Register paid a flying visit.

More than a dozen vintage cars, built between 1932 and 1937, were on show as part of the club’s tour of Norfolk and Suffolk.

Other stops during their stay included the Mechanical Music Museum in Cotton, Southwold, Thetford and Attleborough.

Bob Wilkinson, vice chairman of the club, said: “These cars resonate with so many people because they bring back memories.

“Lots of people have been telling us they remember having a car like that, or that their grandparents had one.”

Mr Wilkinson, 75, added: “The museum provided us with an ideal venue. It has a similar ethos to us and its visitors were really interested in the cars.

“We tour around different parts of the country each year and decided on Norfolk and Suffolk this year as two of our members, Roger and Jo Hanslip, are from Wisbech.

“It’s such a super region to visit.”
