Six weeks of community partnership has led to an amazing array of over 1000 poppies on the school field at Holton Primary School.
Pupils, parents and local community members joined together to help make poppies from recycled plastic bottles. Special thanks go to local Holton business, Spectra Packaging, who donated many of the plastic bottles.
Specially commissioned poppies were laid by descendants of the 19 Holton residents who died during World War 1.
Mr Holt, the teacher who organised the event, said, “We have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity shown by the local community.”
The school would like to thank the community of Holton for their support. There are poppies available for purchase and the donations will be sent to Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity working with children who have lost relatives due to war. For more information call 01986 872297.
