The steering group behind Bungay’s Neighbourhood Development Plan (BNDP) will be holding an open day tomorrow to raise awareness of the project.

The event will give local people the opportunity to find out what progress has been made, and to gather views and comments from residents as they work towards formulating the plan for the town.

Once approved by a final public referendum, the BNDP will have statutory weight, meaning that Bungay will gain control and be able to shape the town in a way that has never been achievable in the past.

Deputy chairman Susan Collins said: “Within the scope of our BNDP we can look at how we might protect open spaces, improve the quality of new homes, explore how we could improve traffic flow and road safety, encourage and support local businesses, increase leisure opportunities and help Bungay to thrive and be sustainable whilst protecting our amazing heritage.”

The event is being held at St Mary’s Church in Bungay from 10am to 3pm.
