THE autumn programme at Bungay's Fisher Theatre, announced this week, is an eclectic mix of shows with something for everyone.

For drama lovers Mad Dogs and Englishmen will present The Magician's Box, and the Black Ram Theatre Company will stage three productions - The Crucible, A Doll's House and Playhouse Creatures.

The ever popular Eastern Angles return with Palm Wine and Stout and for Shakespeare fans Henry V makes an appearance. Comedy is also well represented, with the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds touring party presenting The Two of Us, by Michael Frayn. Oscar Wilde's Importance of Being Earnest arrives at the end of November, and Eyeswrite present Meutre, Mystere et Mutilation (a murder mystery with a difference) and Dracula.

Musically there will be the amazing Elvis - What if?, a fantastic new spectacular musical drama, and Rock Around the 60s featuring the Honeycombs, Vanity Fare and Mike Berry. The West End and Broadway feature strongly with The Tigerlillies and Showbitz. Folk singer Julie Felix also makes a welcome return to the theatre. Irish and country music as usual appears with Curtis Magee and The Shaun Loughrey Band.

The story of Gilbert and Sullivan is a light hearted evening of stories, songs and poems centred on the Savoy Operas.

The lunchtime classical concerts continue with Orlando Jopling (cello) and Dominic Harlan (piano), Sam Piha (classical guitar) and Zeffiretti (wind and harpsichord ensemble).

Arguably the highlight of the season is the visit of Osiligi Massai Warriors, who help to raise funds for their home village. Everyone who watches are enthralled by their harmony, natural rhythm and song and of course the jumping for which the tribe are renowned.

Stephen Went, manager of the Fisher Theatre said: “We really have an exciting programme and I would urge everyone to book early. We also have the pantomime Robin Hood coming up at Christmas with Steve Ace and his team returning - booking for this will open shortly.”

The new brochure for September, October and November will be available shortly. In the meantime all shows can be booked online at www.fishertheatre.org or by calling 01986 897130 (11am - 3pm).
