ALL football fixtures on council-run pitches have been postponed because of snow, it has been announced.

Waveney District Council and operational partners Waveney Norse have confirmed that after an inspection of council-run pitches this morning, a decision has been taken to postpone all matches due to be played this weekend.

Waveney District Council and operational partners Waveney Norse have confirmed that after an inspection of council-run pitches this morning, a decision has been taken to postpone all matches due to be played this weekend.

Waveney Norse's Operations Manager, Andy Wilson-Sutter said: “It hasn't taken very long to make a judgement today. Matches on all council pitches, Dip Farm, Normanston Park and Beccles are postponed for this coming weekend and representatives of the Saturday and Sunday league's are being contacted directly.

“We will provide regular updates on conditions and remain in direct contact with the leagues. We will be working closely with them to ensure any backlog of games is accommodated when conditions improve.”
