Two weeks of celebrations will begin in Bungay tomorrow as its annual two-week Summer Festival is launched with the raising of the Bigod Flag at the Castle at noon.

Between then and the closing ceremony on July 24 there will be 23 events for townspeople and visitors to take part in.

Children will enjoy the Kids Fun Day and the Teddy Bears picnic, cultural entertainment will include Shakespeare at the Castle and the Good Read Group guest speaker, author Linda Davies.

There is plenty of family entertainment with the Great Bungay Duck Race on Sunday, the Black Dog Arts garden trail, the St Mary’s Tower Tours as well as the activity weekend and fun day at the River Waveney Trust Centre.

And all musical tastes will be catered for – with the Mozart Orchestra concert, the Windborne Singers workshop and concert, and an evening on the life and music of Ivor Novello at the Fisher Theatre, set to attract the crowds.
