Four people injured in crash on north Suffolk road

Two people believed to be in their 70s were taken to hospital yesterday following a crash near Beccles.

Suffolk police were called to a collision on the A146 at Barnby, between Beccles and Lowestoft, at roughly 1.30pm.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust assessed four patients at the scene, all of whom were walking wounded.

Two people were taken to James Paget Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “We were called at 1.23pm today to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Marsh Lane and A146, Beccles. An ambulance crew, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer were sent to help.

“At the scene we assessed four patients, two men and two women, all believed to be in their 70s, who were all walking wounded. Two patients were taken to the James Paget Hospital with minor injuries for further assessment.”
