WAVENEY District Council is hosting a free exhibition for local landlords to show them what is on offer with Waveney's Homelessness and Housing Options service.

The Council offers a range of services to help landlords run profitable, sustainable and co-operative tenancies.

It is looking to share what it has to offer at a free Landlord Services Exhibition, which includes a broad schedule of events including workshops, individual speakers and a number of informative stalls.

The exhibition will take place on Thursday October 8 from 10am to 8pm at the Aspire Centre, Denes High School, Yarmouth Road, Lowestoft NR32 4AH.

On the day, there will be workshops and stands covering Voidless Lettings, Guaranteed Rental, Landlord Law with Tessa Shepperson, Tenancy Support Services, Accreditation Scheme, Inventory Services and Credit Union Services.

The Council will also be providing information on the various ways it can support and work with the private sector. Other exhibitors and workshops include Housing Action, a local charity that has developed a unique product that ensures landlords never experience a void or debt again.

Tessa Shepperdson from Landlord Law who will be conducting presentations on the key legal aspects of being a landlord and Rainbow Credit Union and the Eastern Landlords Association will be passing on some valuable advice.

There will also be a variety of trade stands at the exhibition, which include services ranging from management companies with a twist to local Energy Performance Certificate suppliers.

Councillor Sue Allen, Portfolio Holder for Housing said: “This event is very timely and we hope it provides valuable information and advice to those in the private sector. Local landlords play a crucial role in providing good quality homes for the people of Waveney and they are currently needed more than ever.

“It is vital we all work together if we are to increase capacity and ease demand for housing services. We want to make our landlords aware of the available support, helping them protect their livelihoods and ensuring they continue to make their important contribution to our local housing supply.”
