Waveney’s freemasons have donated almost £1,000 to an appeal to build a new children’s hospice in Norfolk.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices received the money from the Waveney Lodge of Freemasons following a successful ladies’ evening in Great Yarmouth.
The group raised the money at a ladies’ evening in Great Yarmouth, with David Langton, Jane Capie, Bob Clark and Mark Morris presenting a cheque to Tim Jenkins, community fundraiser for EACH Norfolk, who also filled them in with the project’s progress.
Mr Jenkins said: “It was great to go along and talk to some of the people who worked so hard to raise this money and the nook appeal has reached just over £8 million and building of our new hospice is now well under way.
“We still have another almost £2 million to raise, though, so the continued support of community organisations like the Waveney Lodge of Freemasons is really appreciated.”
