A garden theme saw a variety of colourful images submitted into the latest competition at Bungay Camera Club.
Held at the club’s home venue at Broome Village Hall, the judge for the competition, titled ‘In the Garden’, was Joan Jordan FRPS who gave some great feedback about the high quality of all the entries.
She especially praised of one of the club’s youngest members, Joshua Finch, who managed a very credible third place with his monochrome print Dinner Time - a well executed macro close-up of a ripe dandelion seed head.
The winner of the digital projected image category was A Monet Scene in an English Garden by Jackie Moore, followed by Garden Toil by David Penrose in second and Walk this Way by Ray Mason in third.
For the colour print images, Peter Nixon took the top spot with The Welcome Visitor, followed by David Penrose’s Threelips and Sue Grief’s After the Rain.
And in the monochrome category, first place went to Who Needs Colour Anyway by Adrian Muttitt, with My Garden Montage in second by Jackie Moore and Dinner Time in third by Josh Finch.
The latest club outing was an evening visit along the north side of River Waveney at Beccles at sunset with the production of some really good images from the special warm atmospheric evening light.
The club is now busy preparing for its annual exhibition at Broome Village Hall on September 1.
A spokesman from the club said: “This exhibition is proving more popular every year and with the input of several new members this year looks like being the most diverse and interesting so far.”
Members of the public and prospective photographers are invited to attend a free sampler club night which is held at the village hall on alternate Wednesday evenings.
