POLICE are appealing for information after a nine-year-old girl reported being assaulted in Old Station Road in Halesworth between 8.20am - 8.30am on Wednesday
The girl said she was walking along the road when a group of about six boys, thought to be in their teens, came out of the play park area and approached her.
One of the boys took hold of her and she was then assaulted by another of the group. The girl sustained pain and discomfort to her neck and stomach.
Police need to trace this group of boys, which included one described as white, tall and thin, with blond hair that was spiky at the front, and another described as being possibly of mixed race, short and of skinny build with short dark brown hair and a stud in one ear.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone with information about the youths.
