The A144 Halesworth to Bungay has reopened after more than 12-hours.
A series of jack-knifed lorries and snow drifts forced the road to close at 10pm last night (March 1).
However, the valiant efforts of the local farming community and council gritters meant the road was able to reopen earlier today.
As has been the case in many parts of the region in recent days local farmers offered their support and used ploughs to clear the road.
A Suffolk County Council spokesman said: “Although it is still very narrow in some areas of the road vehicles have been getting through.”
