Half term fun day to support charity
A fun event for families to enjoy during the half term holiday is being organised by the Beccles branch of the NSPCC.
Supported by the Beccles Tesco store, the Children’s Funtime session will be held at Beccles Public Hall on Wednesday, October 26 from 11am to 3pm.
The event, aimed at three to 11-year-olds, will include magic, face painting, balloon modelling, craft creations, Farm to Fork activities teaching youngsters about food, and a disco.
The entertainment is being provided by Tesco staff Jasmin Mitchell and Andrew Miller, supported by community champion Natalie Clement and other volunteers. The event is part of a number of community projects that Tesco gets involved with each year.
Miss Clement, who is also a member of the local NSPCC branch, said: “It’s a fun, indoor event to give families something to do in the half term as the weather isn’t great at this time of year.
“We want to raise the profile of the branch so people know we are here and do something for the children because that’s what it’s all about.”
Tickets for three to 11-year-olds are priced at £5 each or £10 for three children. The price includes a picnic lunch, provided by Tesco.
Children must be accompanied by an adult, with admission free, and parents are welcome to take along younger children. Low cost lunches will be available for adults to book on arrival.
Hugh Taylor, also a member of the NSPCC branch, said: “A lot of people think it is a national charity, but we are a local group raising money for children locally.”
To secure your space, drop into the Public Hall or email email@example.com. A limited number of tickets will be available on the door.
