Hard work pays off for lido

VOLUNTEERS who worked around the clock to reopen a Waveney swimming pool say people have been flocking to the new facility.

Beccles Lido reopened on Saturday following years of hard work by the community who worked tirelessly to save the pool from long-term closure by choosing to run it themselves.

Beccles Lido reopened on Saturday following years of hard work by the community who worked tirelessly to save the pool from long-term closure by choosing to run it themselves.

Shaun Crowley, Beccles Lido director, said: “We have had a fantastic response to the reopening of the lido.”

The pool, on Puddingmoor, will open from April to September.
