The Harvest Moon Music Festival is now in its 11th year and will be held at Beccles Quay on Saturday, August 11.

Organised by Beccles Community Arts (BCA), the main stage will see 11 bands and musicians performing from noon, with a second acoustic stage introduced this year to give new musicians the chance to perform.

The line-up will see Owl and Wolves kicking off the music at noon, followed by Harmonize at 12.55pm, The Oulton Broads at 1.20pm, Baden A at 2.15pm and The Velvatears at 2.40pm. Next up is Willow Hartley at 3.35pm, Miss Lisa Jane at 4pm, and Maizie Walsh at 4.25pm. Closing the evening will be Monroe at 5.20pm, The Becconians at 6.15pm and One More Shot at 7.05pm.

Jula Janney, chairman of BCA, said: “Last year we had a brilliant day with fantastic music and wonderful weather. It’s going to be a full house this year with more music playing than ever before.

“We also anticipate the crowds will be even larger than 2017 - and that was pretty large - so you had better get there early to bag a place in the arena.

“So don’t forget to pack up your chairs, blankets, even bring a picnic if you wish, and get down to Beccles Quay and claim your spot for the afternoon’s entertainment.”

Due to last year’s record attendance, the organisers have had to get a premises licence for this year and in order to recover some of the costs parking will be available for £2 per car at the site.

As always there will also be food, plant and craft stalls, face painting, children’s games, and a bar provided by The Butcher’s Arms, with admission to the festival free.

A raffle, with a £150 cash prize along with other goodies, will also be running with tickets available in advance from the Lowestoft Journal office in London Road North, Lowestoft, or from BCA members at Hipperson’s Boatyard in Beccles during Charter Weekend tomorrow and Sunday.

The BCA committee would like to thank Ink House Studios in Lowestoft for providing the musical equipment free of charge.
