Organisations supporting health and wellbeing in the Halesworth area are invited to attend a free networking event to showcase their services and find out more about working together to support vulnerable people.

Halesworth Volunteer Centre, Waveney District Council and Suffolk County Council are working in partnership to hold the ‘Live Well’ event on Tuesday, April 24, aimed at local voluntary and community organisations working to support vulnerable and isolated people.

Organisations working in Halesworth and the surrounding area are invited to attend the event and meet with other groups to identify opportunities for working together and find out how to reach more people within the Waveney area.

Guest speakers will include Nicole Richard, head of communities for Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils, and Emma Healey from the Halesworth Volunteer Centre.

Stephen Ardley, Waveney’s deputy leader and cabinet member for communities said: “By working together and sharing ideas and resources, community and voluntary organisations will be able to reach even more people in need and provide further help to local communities. We would encourage any local organisation providing health and wellbeing support in the Halesworth area, or further afield, to book a place at the event.”

The event will take place between 10am and 1pm at Holton Village Hall in Lodge Road.

Ms Healey added: “Our communities do great work in supporting isolated and vulnerable people. We want Live Well to showcase the work of established charities like the Halesworth Volunteer Centre as well as the vital work of smaller groups such as community cafés, lunch clubs and good neighbour schemes.

“By working together, we hope we can spread the word and reach more people who need our support as well as finding new ways to work together. We will be using this event to create a directory of local support and services so that more people know about and can benefit from the magnificent work that is going on in our communities.”

To book your place at the event, email emma.healey@halesworthvc.co.uk or call 07801997051. Alternatively email chloe.winlow@eastsuffolk.gov.uk or call 07557486172.
