NHS Suffolk is now urging patients to 'know where to go' in case they need medical treatment.
Dr Andrew Hassan, medical director at NHS Suffolk, and a local GP, said: “GP practices, hospital accident and emergency departments and out-of-hours services all feel the pressure more during winter, because more people are prone to illness, flu and falls.
“While it is not winter yet, and the Met Office predicts mild weather, we are seeing a marked increase in demand for local NHS health services. To alleviate this pressure, it's important that people know there are a number of places they can go to get medical treatment in Suffolk, without using the emergency services unnecessarily.”
