Highest ever attendance for traditional plough day

Brampton Plough Day, at Manor Farm, attracted nearly 900 people on Sunday, September 3.

George Fisher, treasurer for the event, said: “It went very well indeed - there was an absolute buzz to the day.”

Organisers say the 27th Plough Day has raised somewhere in the region of £4,000 for charity.

This year the event was raising funds in aid of Autism Anglia and Parkinsons UK - which both stand to gain an estimated £2,000.

Highlights on the day included a display by the Lowestoft Dog Agility Display Team, Suffolk Punch horses ploughing and a selection of classic cars.

Mr Fisher added: “I want to thank everybody who attended on the day - we are already talking about next year.

“In particular I would like to thank Thomas Barne of Sotterley Estate for making the land available for free.”
