Some of the biggest names in comedy and cabaret will be heading to Henham Park this summer to perform at Latitude Festival.

Headliner Russell Howard will be joined by Josh Widdicombe, Paul Merton and Al Murray, as just a few of the household faces from the world of comedy announced to perform at this year's festival.

Curator of the Latitude Arts Arenas, Tania Harrison said: 'On the bill there are big names from television and theatre, but also exciting lesser known acts such as Ivo Graham, who I am big fan of.

'We also have Al Porter, who is a big name in his native Ireland but not many will know him here, he is definitely one to look out for; also check out Joe Lycett, who was our 2010 Act of the Year, he is funny all the time.'

Since the first festival in 2006, Latitude has become a renowned breeding ground for comedic talent.

Returning headline act Russell Howard previously performed Latitude ten years ago, while Josh Widdicombe was crowned Latitude New Act of the Year in 2009 and other notable names such as Michael McIntyre and Sarah Millican have graced the Comedy Arena stage.

The festival held from July 14 to July 17 will also host a line up overflowing with cabaret talent from the likes of Tina C and Margaret Thatcher Queen of Game Shows.

'It is important to go into both the comedy and cabaret arenas so not to miss any current stars or upcoming performers.

'Country and Western singer Tina C will provide fantastic entertainment with a performance full of dry wit and good music. Similarly, Margaret Thatcher Queen of Game Shows, will offer something quite insane for audiences to enjoy,' added Ms Harrison.

Far more than just a music festival Latitude attracts over 35, 000 people to Henham Park each year, who come to enjoy the eclectic mix of music, film, comedy and poetry. Earlier this month, iconic English band, New Order were announced as headliners alongside American rock band The National and indie group The Maccabees at the Obelisk Arena- the festival's main stage.

Tickets are on sale now, with adult weekend passes costing £197.50 and day tickets costing £77.50.
