Hundreds of people enjoyed an afternoon of music in Beccles as the town hosted a free festival.
The annual Harvest Moon Festival is organised by Beccles Community Arts (BCA) and saw nine bands from Norfolk and Suffolk play a mixture of covers and original songs at Beccles Quay.
Chairman of BCA Jula Janney said: “It is a really unique day, people can bring the whole family, including children and babies, you can bring your own food if you want, enjoy the free music and it’s just a lovely event.
“The atmosphere has been really chilled, everyone has had smiles on their faces and it’s just getting bigger every year.”
The popular festival is now in its ninth year, and the committee behind it is also aiming to build a permanent stage at Beccles Quay for the whole community to use.
The campaign hopes to raise up to £60,000 and is supported by the Beccles and Bungay Journal, and BCA committee members were collecting donations throughout yesterday’s festival, and speaking to people about the campaign.
“People think it’s a brilliant idea,” said Mrs Janney. “And they have said it’s something the town really needs.
“People have been really generous with their donations again this year and it would be wonderful to be able to get the stage built.”
