OVER 30 children in Loddon took advantage of a new youth facility in the village when it opened its doors last week.

The new Loddon Youth Club was set up by the local Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) to give youngsters in the town a safe and fun place to meet.

33 young people enjoyed games and free refreshments, kindly donated by local shops, for the opening night which took place on Tuesday.

Two qualified youth workers and PCSO Donna Boggis from the Loddon SNT were at the club to supervise activities.

PCSO Boggis said: “All the young people were well behaved and polite and we received a lot of positive feedback from them. I am confident that word of mouth will go a long way and the club will continue to grow.

“We would like to thank everyone who has donated equipment for the youth facility especially Asda, PC World and Currys who provided a Playstation 2 with four games and a CD player.

“The youths all went home at the end of each session and there were no calls of complaints received - they made the most of their new facility.”

Loddon Youth Club will be taking place every Tuesday at Jubilee Hall, George Lane, with two sessions, one from 6.30pm to 8pm for eight to 11 year olds, and one from 8.30pm to 10pm for 12 to 17 year olds.

Entry fee will be charged at £1 for non-members and 50p for members, and membership will be required after three visits.

Loddon youth club still needs storage containers, if you are able to provide this equipment please contact Loddon Safer Neighbourhood Team on 0845 456 4567 or email sntloddon@norfolk.pnn.police.uk.
