The cars were damaged in Durban Road at about 11pm on Friday with police saying about seven vehicles were targeted.

Lowestoft Police are looking for two males suspected of causing the damage and launched an appeal via social media to try and find them.

A resident, who did not want to be named, said he and his wife's cars both had windows smashed and that an elderly disabled neighbour had seen a registration plate removed and a rear light smashed.

The resident said he had heard the cars' windows being smashed and called 999. He said he had seen two young men in the area at the time and the road had seen anti-social behaviour problems.

He added: 'The residents are angry and upset.'

A Tweet issued on Sunday morning by the town's police force said: 'Witness Appeal, on the 28th Sept 2018 at approx 11pm 2 males caused damage to approx 7 cars in Durban Road #Lowestoft.'

Anyone who has information on the car vandalism or knows who the two male suspects are should call Suffolk police on the non-emergency number 101 and quote reference number 426.
