Rail passengers have experienced delays on the trains between Lowestoft and Ipswich this afternoon (Saturday), following a fault with the swing bridge at Oulton Broad South.
The fault with the swing bridge at Oulton Broad South meant trains had to run at reduced speed – leading to delays of up to 20 minutes.
A spokesman for train operator Abellio Greater Anglia said: 'Train services between Ipswich and Lowestoft, via Saxmundham and Beccles are returning to normal.
'Following a fault with a swing bridge earlier today at Oulton Broad South all lines are now open.'
Network Rail engineers attended the location of the fault to make repairs.
The first services to be affected today were the 3.07pm Lowestoft to Ipswich train and the 2.17pm Ipswich to Lowestoft train.
The 4.07pm Lowestoft to Ipswich train is now expected to be five minutes late arriving due to the earlier fault.
As of 5pm today (Saturday), the services had returned to normal – with all lines now open.
